Owner Surrending

Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter will take owner surrendered animals from Tuscaloosa County, Tuscaloosa City, and the City of Northport. However, our ability to accept owner surrenders is dependent upon space at the shelter.

Home-to-home gives people who can no longer keep their pets the opportunity to find new, loving homes without having to drop pets off at the shelter. Pets go from one home into another. Animals in need of new homes are searchable on this website.

Happy Hour is a program at the shelter where members of the community can check an approved dog out between the hours of 12-4PM on Mon-Tue or Thur-Fri. We do not do happy hour on Saturday.
